The Company:
Canon Inc. is a Japanese multinational corporation specialized in the manufacture of imaging and optical products, including cameras, camcorders, photocopiers, steppers, computer printers and medical equipment. It is headquartered in Ota, Tokyo, Japan. Canon has a primary listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the TOPIX index. At the beginning of 2015, Canon was the tenth largest public company in Japan when measured by market capitalization.

The Challenge:
This case study details how Canon was looking to launch a new camera on the market and wanted to provide their main retailers with full information about the camera features. The Canon camera Video Book for this product promotion had been prepared and the perfect medium for this was sought. The aim of the campaign was to quickly educate retailers on the key features so that they were well informed and able to quench the curiosity of customers with products specs and demos.

The Solution:
Canon and their agency TAG Worldwide partnered with Video Plus Print to produce 750 Video Brochures to promote their latest camera: EOS 1DX. Their objective to use our video brochures was to inform and impress the key retailers about the new features of their latest camera model and create a buzz about their unique marketing campaign of using VPP video brochures to show off their latest camera technology. With a customized software and brochure format, Video Plus Print helped Canon create a memorable and engaging delivery method and caught the attention of the professional photographers and prospective buyers shopping at the various retail outlets.

The Success:
The response for the new camera was great and our video book served well to excite and entice the rapid sales on the new model. Video Plus Print was thanked for their immense contribution is assisting the product launch to be a mega success.
